China says – Kashmir is an issue between India and Pakistan. Till now, the Chinese nation considered this issue to be discussed at UN.

India gets its first Rafale jet. The deal was signed in Sep 2016 with the French Government to buy 36 jets at Euro 7.9billion. This amount includes Euro 3 billion of Indian Indigenous work/equipment.
The tail numbers will be in the RB series after the current IAF chief RKS Bhadauria. The range of these jets will be over 300kms. 28 single seater and 8 twin seater jets will be given to 17 squadron.

James Peeble, Didier Queloz, and Michel Mayor
James Peebles was awarded for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmotology and Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz won jointly for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star.
An exoplanet is a planet outside the solar system.

Funds Crunch at UN
UN may run out of cash by October end – Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General. UN’s operating budget for 2018-19 is close to $5.4billion, with 22% funding by US. The operating model of the UN is based on contributions by member states.
